Click here for 2007 Dates & Fees or here to register for a 2007 Tawonga program. 2007 Camp Tawonga program descriptions will be available on our new website on January 1, 2007

Session I June 17 - June 22, 2006 (6 days)

For kids entering 2nd-7th grades

We pack all of the excitement and adventure into six fun-filled days - a wonderful introduction to camp for younger or first-time campers. Featuring: arts & crafts • swimming boating • sports • nature activities • a day trip to Yosemite or the Stanislaus National Forest.

Session II June 24 - July 6, 2006 (2 weeks)

For kids entering 3rd-10th grades

Our two-week session is just the right length for many kids. The same activities as Session I PLUS a real overnight backpacking trip in Yosemite or the Stanislaus National Forest, a day on the challenge course, and a joyful Shabbat celebration.

Session IV Carmel July 29 - August 10, 2006 (A 2 week session WITHIN Session IV)

For kids entering 3rd-6th grades

Session IV Carmel is identical to our other 2 week session (Session II) except for the dates of the program. We introduced this new session this year due to the incredible demand for two week programs. Carmel is traditionally the name of the unit for our youngest campers, and all campers who sign up for this program will be in the Carmel unit together, alongside our older Session IV campers!

Session III July 8 - July 27, 2006 (3 weeks)
Session IV July 29 - August 17, 2006 (3 weeks)

These sessions are the ideal length for kids who are used to being away from their families and want to experience everything Camp Tawonga has to offer: Backpacking • the challenge course • music • sports • Shabbat and Havdalah • drama • arts & crafts • swimming • boating • Israeli and modern dance • Jewish learning • all-camp Talent Show • outdoor barbeques • hanging out at the river • dances • wacky theme days Older campers enjoy advanced programs (called Livnot) in arts, drama, self-defense, cooking, and journalism.

These sessions are identical, but Session IV includes an extra helping of Israeli culture, friendship and fun. Our third annual delegation of children and teens from Israel will join us as Session IV campers. These Israelis come to camp and teach a little Hebrew, introduce campers to Israel through the eyes of Israeli teens, and form lasting friendships.

If your children are interested in visiting Israel someday, Session IV is a great way for them to build positive and personal connections with their Israeli peers.
