A typical day at Camp Tawonga is designed by the cabin group along with their counselor. Children learn consensus decision making and are introduced to activities that they might not have chosen by themselves.

7:15
Boker Tov -
Good morning campers!
The wake up bell rings and campers roll out of their sleeping bags. It's time to get ready for the day. Brush those teeth, then hats, sunscreen, full water bottles, and out the door.

8:00
Hamotzi!
Campers and counselors gather around their breakfast table, say the blessing and dig into a wholesome family-style meal - followed by a rousing song session.

9:30
Sports
Basketball, Gaga, and Climbing Tower, oh my!

12:30
Lunch Time
Our great fresh food menu typically includes parent-pleasers like a good balance of protein, vegetables and fresh fruit as well as classic kid favorites like mac n' cheese and pizza.

1:30
Rest Hour!
A great time to rest, write letters, or play cards with bunk mates.

2:30
More Cabin Activities!
Campers enjoy mellower activities during the warmer part of the day. Slip n' Slide, making friendship bracelets down at the river, or working on a project at shade-covered Arts & Crafts are three favorites.

4:00
Free Swim!
Campers have this time to enjoy our Olympic size pool. They may choose to participate in mad milers, start a game of Marco Polo, or just relax and float around in an inner tube.

6:00
Dinner!
Like we say at Tawonga, "food is king." Your child will never go hungry. We serve a wide variety of healthy foods that will appeal to even the picky eaters. Dinner is followed by another song session!

7:30
Floats!
Campers have the opportunity to explore camp individually. Specialists lead activities such as drama games, Frisbee golf, boating on the lake and archery.

8:30
Night Time Activities!
S'mores. Campfires. Story telling. Star gazing. Now we're camping.

9:30
Sweet Dreams
Counselors bring closure to the day by leading a bedtime ritual like asking each child to share the best part of their day. Younger bunks may read a chapter of a book each night and teenagers may participate in a discussion about issues they face growing up.

10:00
Everyone in Bed
Campers have a big day tomorrow.
Some days at camp include extra special things like day trips during session one, backpacking during sessions two, three, and four, theme days and ropes course.
