One special feature of 4^th session at Camp Tawonga is our Noar L’Noar program that brings a group of campers from Israel to join our community. This year a diverse group of twenty-six Israelis made the journey. As part of a night time activity for our two oldest units of Haifa and Chalutzim, the campers led rotations that shared part of their culture and experience in Israel. The stations included an exploration of Ethiopian Israeli food and dance, learning about the army experience, talking about different Israeli stereotypes, and learning Arabic songs and dance from Arab-Israelis. Learning from each other about the similarity and differences of different cultures is truly what the Noar program is all about! That and making friends!
