Alumni Reunion

There were no suite or ties, and a lot more women, at the Camp Tawonga Alumni Reunion this past weekend than there were in 1961. Over 150 Tawonga Alumni meet this past weekend at Camp Tawonga to reunite with old friends and enjoy the wonder that is Camp Tawonga. There were alumni representatives from the 1960s through our current staff and camper.

Past and current Board members helped to lead Saturday morning’s Torah service at our glorious Makom Shalom. Barb Niss, current board member, explained “It is inspiring to see so many generations of Tawonga Alumni coming back and sharing their stories and reuniting with friends.” Josh Weinberg, current board member, continued “It is great to meet new people and ‘un-plug’ from the world. Tawonga is a great place; I met my wife here and got engaged here.”

Many of the Summer Staff from 1988 reunited this weekend, including Adam Miller, Timnah Steinman, Steve Gershik, and Sam Lee. Sam’s high lights of the weekend were “The Miwoke acorn soup we made and tasted, reconnecting with friends, and reminiscing about the past.”

If you missed out on the great weekend that doesn't mean you have to miss out on future events. Join the Tawonga Alumni Association and keep in touch.
